Parquetry is very similar to marquetry, however by definition parquetry is a geometric mosaic rather then a designed image such as marquetry. Parquetry block pattern is popular design used for flooring. (The Boston Celtics home court is a parquet floor)
Famous parquetry patterns are the basket-weave, and block patterns.
