Does Office Happiness equal Productivity?

K International Woodworking was just recently asked to renovate several offices. Two companies have requested brand new desks for all their employees. This got us thinking about the work environment. If you think about it, for many of us, most of our waking time is spend working, usually at our desk.

We have found that some of the most successful companies in the world have first class offices where employees can be productive. Take Red Frog for example, a Chicago based company that built a Tree house in the middle of the office space. It was a big investment but worth every penny. A $5000 dollar investment ended up making the company $45 million dollars.

It is not a secret that some of the Top 100 best companies to work for are also some of the top earning companies. There must some correlation there. Ben Waber of Sociometric solutions, has tested out this theory and in several interviews gives scientific examples of how simple in the office can help improve employee happiness that ultimately lead to more productivity.

Before the desks where shipped off we had a photographer come to take pictures. The photographer was so amazed by these desks that she herself ordered one. We decided to add her testimonial to our blog today:
